“A US federal appeals court rejected an attempt by Jeffrey Epstein’s alleged madam, British socialite Ghislaine Maxwell, to block the release of a massive deposition she gave for a 2016 civil suit filed by one of Epstein’s accusers.”
. . . “This is good news for not just the victims of Epstein, but for victims everywhere,” Spencer Kuvin, a lawyer who has represented several of Epstein’s alleged victims, told the Herald. “The Courts should not be a party to the long history of Epstein and his co-conspirator’s attempts to avoid public scrutiny for their actions. Everyone who was a part of the Epstein sex ring should be concerned.”
“Attorneys for alleged Jeffrey Epstein “sex slave” Virginia Roberts Giuffre were ordered Wednesday to destroy evidence from her case against Ghislaine Maxwell — as lawyer Alan Dershowitz was also denied access to the potentially explosive information.
Manhattan federal court Judge Loretta Preska said she was “troubled” to learn during oral arguments last week that Giuffre’s lawyers, from the firm of Cooper & Kirk, had been given sealed records from her since-settled suit against Maxwell . . . “
” . . . Preska also rejected a request by Dershowitz for access to “all filings and discovery materials, including third-party discovery” from the Maxwell case, saying that “it is not a targeted strike that Mr. Dershowitz proposes, but a carpet bombing.” (more)
“Ghislaine Maxwell – a longtime associate of Jeffrey Epstein – is fighting to keep sealed court documents about her sex life under wraps, according to a new filing.
The secret documents relate to a seven-hour, 418-page deposition Maxwell gave as part of a now-settled defamation lawsuit filed against her in 2015 by Epstein victim Virginia Roberts Giuffre.”
“She continued to describe her symptoms, saying she had been having trouble with breathing, as well as fever and a cough.
‘Getting tested for Covid-19 praying it’s not positive,’ she said. “
“Prince Andrew accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre is speaking out again as part of a new Netflix docu-series into Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking ring, she has confirmed.
The streaming service said on Twitter Friday that it would be airing “Jeffrey Epstein: Filthy Rich,” based on the James Patterson book.”
At 971 Blog we are not fans of James Patterson.

“Giuffre — who claims she was lent to the firebrand attorney for sex by the late disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein — sued Dershowitz in April after he publicly denounced her as a “serial perjurer,” a “serial liar” and a “serial prostitute.””
“[Judge] Preska did, however, grant Dershowitz’s motion to disqualify Giuffre’s law firm, Boies Schiller Flexner, after the Harvard professor claimed he intended to call lawyers from the firm as witnesses at a trial.”
” . . . a Manhattan federal judge ruled Giuffre can move forward with her defamation lawsuit against Dershowitz — but that she’ll have to find new representation. (She was repped by David Boies, but Dershowitz intends to call lawyers from Boies’ firm as witnesses in his case.)
A letter from Dershowitz’s lawyers at Aidala, Bertuna & Kamins to Judge Loretta Preska filed Friday requested an adjournment of a discovery conference in the case until Dec. 2, but also revealed: “In the interim, Mr. Dershowitz will file his answer to the plaintiff’s complaint and assert counterclaims for defamation and other tortious conduct against plaintiff seeking substantial damages.””
. . . good luck with that one . . . as if anyone believes that lie about the old Russian hag giving him a massage on Pedo Island . . . . [opinion]
“A judge has denied Harvard law professor Alan Dershowitz’s attempt to block a defamation lawsuit filed by one of Jeffrey Epstein’s accusers, who claims she was forced into a sexual relationship with the prominent attorney, officials said.”

” . . . According to interviews with three people with direct knowledge of the events, Epstein grew irate in late February 2011 after the New York Post published a photograph of the prince walking in Central Park with Epstein in late December 2010.
The accompanying article, headlined ”Prince & Perv,” generated a barrage of negative publicity about the prince’s years-long friendship with Epstein. On March 7, 2011, Sarah Ferguson admitted publicly that she had accepted GBP 15,000 ($24,000) from Epstein to help pay an employee to whom she owed money.
On the advice of her publicist, James Henderson, the Duchess gave an interview to London’s Evening Standard in which she expressed extreme contrition for her lack of judgment by accepting the funds from Epstein. With the interview, she put a clear divide between herself and Epstein. “I abhor pedophilia,” she said, adding that she’d had no knowledge of Epstein’s alleged relationships with under-age girls when she took the money.
According to Henderson, Epstein’s reaction to Ferguson’s statement was swift and dramatic. First Henderson received what he described as a “deeply unpleasant” phone call from Epstein, who threatened Henderson with a defamation lawsuit if a statement was not issued retracting the word “pedophile.” . . . “ (more)
OPINION: Doesn’t all this “news” look like a product of a P.R. firm hired by Buckingham Palace to do some damage control on the pedo-prince who is now getting huge amounts of damning publicity over his years of pedo/rape activities?
“Adam Perry Lang, the prominent L.A. chef whose Hollywood restaurant APL’s industry backers include friend Jimmy Kimmel and Joel McHale, acknowledged Friday that he’d worked for the late Jeffrey Epstein as a private chef.
“Almost 20 years ago, as a young chef I was hired to work for Jeffrey Epstein,” he explained in a statement. “My role was limited to meal preparation. I was unaware of the depraved behavior and have great sympathy and admiration for the brave women who have come forward.””
” . . . Eater, which broke the news of Lang’s connection to Epstein on Friday morning, noted that unsealed court documents show Lang had repeatedly flown aboard the alleged sex trafficker’s private plane on several occasions in 2000 and 2001 between his homes in Florida, the Virgin Islands and New Mexico. In a deposition in the case of Epstein accuser Virginia Roberts Giuffre, who claims he kept her as a teenage “sex slave,” pilot David Rodgers noted that Lang had stayed at Epstein’s Manhattan townhouse as well. No mention is made of any knowledge by Lang of Epstein’s misconduct.”
umm-hmmm … so these 12 year old girls and teens didn’t eat anything …..

“NEW YORK (AP) — A federal judge will discuss plans Wednesday for unsealing a new trove of court records involving sexual abuse allegations against Jeffrey Epstein, the financier who took his own life last month while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges.
U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska scheduled the hearing after an appeals court in New York ordered her to carefully review the records and release “all documents for which the presumption of public access outweighs any countervailing privacy interests.”
While it’s not clear who is named in the records, an attorney for a John Doe warned in court papers Tuesday that the documents may contain “life-changing” disclosures against third parties not directly involved in the litigation. The attorney, Nicholas Lewin, requested the opportunity to be heard on the matter, citing his unnamed client’s “reputational rights.”” . . . (more)
“(Bloomberg) — A lawyer for British socialite and former Jeffrey Epstein friend Ghislaine Maxwell told a judge overseeing the unsealing of documents in a suit by one of the dead money-manager’s claimed victims that there are “hundreds” of people named in documents under review.
The lawyer, Jeffrey Pagliuca, told U.S. District Judge Loretta Preska Wednesday that the materials also include an address book with about 1,000 names. Preska is considering how to carry out a ruling by the federal appeals court in New York that she must consider unsealing some of the documents.” . . . (more)
“At a hearing on Wednesday, Preska gave Giuffre, Maxwell and other interested parties two weeks to divide the documents into three categories. Preska said one category of documents – those that could have been used by a judge to decide core issues in the case – are most likely to be unsealed.
The parties will then will have a chance to make arguments about what should be public and what should remain secret.”
