PART 1: Dershowitz Must be in Court TUESDAY (9-24) to Answer Defamation Charges
NY Daily News – Jeffrey Epstein victim’s defamation lawsuit against Alan Dershowitz will require testimony of Victoria’s Secret CEO Les Wexner
A nasty legal battle between Jeffrey Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre and Alan Dershowitz broadened Tuesday, as attorneys for the retired Harvard Law professor said they’d call Victoria’s Secret CEO Leslie Wexner to the stand.
““Every time (Dershowitz) goes on a show and defames my client he is responsible for that defamation,” Giuffre attorney Sigrid McCawley said.
A trial date for the case has not been set.”
Daily Beast – Dershowitz: Epstein Victim Accused Billionaire Les Wexner of Sex Abuse ‘to Obtain Money’
In his legal battle with an Epstein victim, the lawyer claims the young woman accused Les Wexner of forcing her into sex—and insisting she wear Victoria’s Secret lingerie.
NOTE: Dershowitz is in a personal vendetta with attorney David Boies.
“Sigrid McCawley, a lawyer for Giuffre, said each of Dershowitz’s numerous comments on multiple platforms gives rise to a separate claim of defamation.
“The law does not allow him, simply because he said something in 2015, to continue to defame my client,” McCawley said.
The judge didn’t indicate when she will rule.”
Dershowitz’ Lawyers Say Epstein Accuser’s Boies Schiller Lawyers Should Be Disqualified in Defamation Case
“Dershowitz has repeatedly called Giuffre “a liar, a perjurer and an extortionist,” Dershowitz’s attorney, Howard Cooper conceded several times in open court. But the Harvard law professor’s recent comments, particularly those on the internet, are not libelous, he said, because they were the same statements he has leveled against Giuffre for many years.”
” . . . the New York Court of Appeals has ruled that altering the alleged defamatory content may trigger “republication,” and some courts have also said that moving the content to different platforms also constitutes republication, which resets the statute of limitations.
Dershowitz’s lawyers claim that everything he has said should be considered part and parcel of the same statements he has made previously and, therefore, covered by the statute of limitations.
Prescott, however, was skeptical of the argument, questioning Cooper on whether the law of defamation in New York gives people the right to repeat potentially libelous statements for eternity.”
Alan Dershowitz Claims Slandering The Woman Whom He Allegedly Raped As A Child Is Protected ‘Free Speech’
“The fact that the ultra liberal media, which allegedly is pro-feminist and pro-children, still allows Dershowitz to show his face in public, would seem to suggest that an incredibly powerful cabal of pro-pedophile power brokers, like the Mega Group, are in Dershowitz’s corner, propping him up and telling the media to keep their hands off him.”
