    This is actually a German monarchy, as everyone on this site knows, though the average person may not. However, it replaced a British House – the House of Stewart. Even though she has a Stewart ancestor it seems peripheral. In the English Civil War it was more than just about the king vs parliament but about whether people wanted Cromwell’s Calvinism (with predestination) or free will (Catholic, Anglican, etc). Cromwell was also very bad to Ireland. Anyway, repeatedly, those supporting the Stewart kings (whether because they were Scottish-British or because they believed in free will) were killed or deported to the United States or Caribbean.

      There is much more interest now than ever before in the idea of dumping the monarchy. On twitter it was a small niche and after prince Andrew was outed as a pedo it is the main topic on UK twitter talk.
